This four-week series will help students understand what it means to be part of the local church and why being part of a local church is such an important part of their identity as Christ-followers.

 


 

Week 1

Topic: What We Believe

Big Idea: It all comes down to this:loving God and loving others as ourselves

Scripture: Matthew 22:35-39

 

 

Week 2

Topic: Small Groups

Big Idea: We are better together

Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25; Ecclesiastes 4:12

 

 

Week 3

Topic: Who We Are Outside of Church

Big Idea: We want to be the same people here as we are when we’re out there.

Topic: Set Apart

Big Idea: Not everyone is going to get it... and that’s okay.

Topic: The Wise Men and The Shepherds

Big Idea: Jesus is our light in the darkness.

Big Idea: We must carry the light with us.

Winterblast (01/24-01/26)

Winterblast is a 40-hour weekend retreat for Middle and High school students. You’ve got 40 hours to fly down the tube run, chill in the game room, and crush on the dodgeball court. 40 hours to color the snow on the paintball fields, fill your stomach in the dining hall, and get back out there for frozen football. 40 hours to laugh with your friends, create inside jokes with your youth leaders, and fill your memory card with smiling faces. 40 hours to soak in the wisdom of Godly speakers, worship in surround sound, and meet with the God of the universe. This could be the most intense 40 hours of your life. You might want to stretch first!

This four-week series will dive into four different Biblical accounts of calling by giving students an opportunity to discern God’s calling on their own lives.

Topic: The Call of Abraham

Big Idea: God’s call often requires faith.

Scripture: Genesis 12:1-9

 

 

Week 2

Topic: The Call of Esther

Big Idea: God’s call often requires courage.

Scripture: Esther 4:14

 

 

Week 3

Topic: The Call of the Woman at the Well

Big Idea: God’s call often requires self-reflection.

Scripture: John 4:1-30, 39-42

 

 

Week 4

Topic: The Call of the Disciples

Big Idea: What God is calling you TO is bigger than what He is calling you FROM.

Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22, 9:9-13

 
 
 

 

All The Feels (03/05-03/26)

This four-week series gives students permission to experience and express their emotions in healthy ways without allowing those same emotions to become unhealthy for themselves and their community.

 


 

Week 1

Topic: Hatred/Anger

Big Idea: Anger motivates, but hatred consumes.

Scripture: Ephesians 4:26; Matthew 5:21-26

 

 

Week 2

Topic: Lust/Love

Big Idea: Love builds up, but lust objectifies.

Scripture: Matthew 5:27-30

 

 

Week 3

Topic: Pride/Joy

Big Idea: Joy celebrates, but pride excludes

Scripture: Proverbs 11:2; Romans 12:3

 

 

Week 4

Topic: Shame/Sadness

Big Idea: Sadness honors loss, but shame condemns.

The Last Words of Jesus (04/02-04/30)

This four-week series challenges students to ask themselves how they might apply the last words of Jesus to their lives today.

 


 

Week 1

Topic: “My God, My God, Why Have You Abandoned Me?”

Big Idea: Even in tough times, God is always with us.

Scripture: Mark 15:34; Psalm 22; Psalm 30:5b

 

 

Week 2

Topic: “Father, Forgive Them”

Big Idea: Through His suffering, Jesus offers forgiveness.

Scripture: Luke 23:34; 1 John 2:1-2

 

 

Week 3

Topic: “It Is Finished”

Big Idea: Jesus did what no one else could.

Scripture: John 19:30; Romans 8:1

 

 

Week 4

Topic: The Great Commission

Big Idea: As His disciples, we have a responsibility to share Jesus’ message with others.

Big Idea: Freedom is found in forgiving others.

Week 2

Topic: The Parable of the Laborers in the Vinyard

Big Idea: Our value is found in who we are, not what we do.

Scripture: Matthew 20:1-16

 

 

Week 3

Topic: The Parable of the Two Sons

Big Idea: Commitment is shown through action, not just words.

Scripture: Matthew 21:28-32

 

 

Week 4

Topic: The Parable of the Great Feast

Big Idea: God’s grace is available to all who respond.
