I love the way Sproul transitions from a chapter discussing angry sinners in the hands of an angry God to one where this same forgiving merciful God still chooses to “crown us with glory and honor, with which (He) the Creator touched this tiny part of creation.” We too are the handiwork of God.
“The psalmist, armed with a knowledge that was able to bridge the enormous gap between heaven and earth, perceived something to which we have become completely blind-seeing past creature, stars and moon to the One who set them in the heavens.” As one of or His greatest masterpieces, God fashioned or created us with this truth that lies at our core. “Though all people receive this knowledge of God, they will not all readily acknowledge it and their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. (Hence and therefore the resulting) idolatry, distorting the knowledge of Him by replacing it with an image we create ourselves; replacing the reality with a counterfeit.” So very important to realize and keep in mind when interacting with different individuals who ” refuse to believe what we know is true -a problem of dishonesty, living in untruth, not in reality.”
And the fleshly benefit Dostoyevsky says- “if there is no God then all things are permissable.”

“Sin, a refusal to honor God as God and the rejection of God’s magesty, leaves us with minds that are darkened; it results in a massive foolishness; our whole view of life and the world is distorted.” (Again so crucial to bear in mind in interactions with and understanding others.) Praise God for His Spirit and ” regeneration – we can now cut through the darkness and cacophony of sin to see truth.” Otherwise, how could we appreciate the ” depth of dimension” required to see nuances, beauty and holiness. Like being able to read and embrace scripture at deeper levels.

“Truth is that which corresponds to reality as perceived by God; He sees all things from the perspective of eternity.” As should we and praise Him that with His Spirit’s power we can!
